Michelle is a very talented instructor and trainer. She is patient and supportive, her horsemanship brings out the best in both the horse and rider. Michelle restarted my 12 yr old mare, Charm, while working with me, helping me through my fear and anxiety. We came to her with worry, not knowing if we would continue on our horsemanship path together. With Michelle's help and encouragement we have grown independently while building trust and a partnership. Charm and I are now moving forward with confidence and having fun! Thank you for everything Michelle!!
Working with Michelle has opened my eyes to what my horse has been trying so hard to tell me for so long! Michelle's training techniques allow soft communication between horse and rider, and she establishes trust with the horse that can carry over into potentially dangerous situations so that the horse looks to their rider for guidance. I have no doubt that these training methods are the safest and most caring way to work with horses, and I can't imagine ever going back to another method.
I'm so happy with how quickly Colby is progressing and I'm so excited to work with him. I can't thank you enough for everything you have helped me with; I feel so confident with Colby now!
Michelle is an exceptional horsewoman not only for her understanding of what is important to the horse but for her ability to break things down for the horse in a way he can understand and therefore be successful. By working with my horse in this way she has inspired him to try harder and to begin to trust that she will keep him safe when they explore new activities.
Michelle is a very knowledgable and perceptive trainer. She knows how to take the training at a good pace, teaching one thing and then building on it. She is always learning and expanding her horsemanship knowledge, and is eager to pass on what she has learned. Working with her is fun and enjoyable, and she always takes time to thoughtfully answer questions. From working with Michelle, I have learned much about softness and clarity, and how to take the horse's thoughts into consideration. I highly recommend Michelle; I know what I learned from her will carry into any relationship I have with a horse.
In the fall of 2012, Michelle Edwards came to work with my horse, Tripp, and myself. Tripp was nervous about many things; principally he would not go on a trail walk by himself. He also had issues coming in from the pasture quietly.
Michelle has amazing skills with horses. She was able to communicate with Tripp from the first time she worked with us, and she was able to show me how to communicate with him as well. In the few months Michelle worked with us, Tripp is calmer and easier to be around.
I was very impressed with her ability to read the horse's thoughts. I appreciated so much her soft voice and calm manner in working with Tripp.
